S/I/DFramework

How Lyingflat reads gaming ecosystems. A diagnostic framework for connecting market signals with the structural, cultural and platform forces that shape industry behaviour.

A public lens designed to make the method legible to analysts, institutions and industry stakeholders, without exposing the internal coding behind each Signal.

Axis 01 — Type of force

Read down the columns: Structures, Imaginary, Data. The three forces that shape gaming ecosystems beyond market data.

Axis 02 — Level of operation

Read across the rows: Control, Direction, Friction. The three layers where each force becomes observable.

exampleslogin systems; subscriptions; KYC; data portability limits

II · Level 02
Direction
How are markets, meanings and visibility steered?
S2

Policy and Institutional Direction

Tracks regulation, licensing, subsidies and institutional pressure shaping market behaviour.

exampleslaws; licenses; compliance rules; industrial policy

I2

Cultural Defence and Moral Framing

Tracks value-based narratives around youth, harm, safety and social order.

examplesmoral panic; youth protection; censorship; safety discourse

D2

Visibility and Discovery

examplesalgorithms; store featuring; search ranking; creator amplification

III · Level 03
Friction
Where do tensions, dependencies and enforcement emerge?
S3

How S-I-D appears in Signals

The matrix is not the public output. In each Signal, it is compressed into a readable sequence that moves from observable fact to diagnostic interpretation and monitorable indicators.

01

Event

What happened, where, when and according to which source.

02

Signal snapshot

Signal type, confidence and diagnostic line.

03

S-I-D reading

Which forces are primary, secondary, latent or not central.

04

Strategic relevance

Why the signal matters beyond the immediate event.

05

What to watch

Observable indicators for follow-up monitoring.

What S-I-D is, and what it is not

The framework is designed to structure interpretation. Its value is diagnostic: it identifies which forces converge around a signal and why that convergence matters.

scope 01

Diagnostic, not predictive

S-I-D supports contextual signal reading. It does not forecast market behaviour or substitute scenario modelling.

scope 02

Complementary to data

Market intelligence remains essential. S-I-D adds structural, cultural and platform interpretation around it.

scope 03

A public lens, not the full method

The internal coding, QA and confidence logic that produce each Signal stay behind the published output.

A matrix, not a taxonomy. Two reading axes — type of force and level of operation — that meet at nine analytical entry points, and feed every Signal Lyingflat publishes.
